Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has been facing a hard time for several months. But this time Deposed Nawaz is reelected as PML-N party president on Tuesday.
The people of the country and other party leaders are stunned over the new decision of the party. Recently, SC finds Nawaz Sharif guilty and disqualified him instantly.
The PML-N leader Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry submitted Nawaz Sharif documents for party president in Election Commission. While no other candidate filed his nomination papers for the candidacy against him in intra-party elections.
How it becomes possible for a Deposed PM to become president of a party?
Everyone is stunned by the news stating Nawaz is re-elected for president of the ruling party. The decision from the party comes after President Mamnoon Hussain signed a bill one day ago. The president has signed the controversial election bill.
What this bill states?
- The bill allowed the disqualified premier to elect as the party chief. Commonly known as Electoral Reforms Bill, the Senate has approved the bill.
- On Monday late at night, the president has signed the bill. A controversial clause in a bill approved disqualified politicians to hold public office or lead a political party.
- This is the section 203 of Electoral Reforms 2017 and allowing many people. The bill allows every citizen to form a political party or become its office-bearer. Moreover, this bill is only limited to the government servants.
Who announced the decision?
- On an ongoing meeting of the party’s general counsel, Chaudhry Jaffar (PML-N election commissioner) Iqbal announced Nawaz Sharif as the party president.
- Hundreds of members of party’s general council including MNA and senators attended the meeting. Sharif is announced as the party president and crowd chanted ‘Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’.
- All of the senior leaders of PML-N has attended the meeting, including Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also the part of a meeting.
Party leader’s views about Nawaz Sharif:
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi added ‘Today is a historic day’! He proud himself to be the witness of the moment as Sharif take a seat of party chairman. Hence, the PM Shahid challenges all other countries parties about their excellent work.
In addition, they said, we are ready to give up our government if it doesn’t stand 100 percent ahead of PPP. We are carrying a lot of development projects and raising standards of the nation.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif also addresses the other parties that stood against them. He added that why they didn’t stand in 1999 when man created Martial law and went on for many years.
We are working for the nation for many years and therefore, Nawaz Sharif kept his promise with people. He brought electricity to the country and decision to produce 3600MW of electricity. Moreover, the first phase of development has been completed and able to provide cheap electricity to people.
While the opposition members gathered around the speaker’s podium and chanting slogans, tearing up copies of the bill. Finally, they fly paper towards the dais and chanted against Sharif and his family as Nawaz is re-elected for president seat.
