Mammoths resembled elephants in size and shape they had narrow skulls, smaller ears and shortest tails, covered in a full coat of hairs. They lived in extremely cold weather.

As elephants do today, the Woolly Mammoth had tremendous tusks which would have been used for both burrowing and getting food. The tusks of the woolly mammoth were quite curved and could easily stretch be up to 5 meters (16ft) long. The worth of tusk is around 400$ per pound. Scientist claimed that the shoulder heights of woolly mammoths was 9 to 11 feet tall and weighted approximately 6 to 7 tons.

10,000 years ago their numbers began to reduce. About 500-1000 Woolly Mammoths lived on Wrangel Island until 1650 BC.
