Think Twice Before Next Selfie As Pakistan Rank Second In ‘Global Killer-Selfie’

Snapping the perfect selfie can be fun but it can be dangerous also. Think twice before clicking your next selfie as more than 250 people died while clicking photos. Shocked?

From 2011 to 2017, some 259 people around the world lose their life according to the new study. This study found that the average age of victims is 23 and most of them are men.

The study found that most of the death occurred in India, followed by Russia, the US, and Pakistan. The leading cause of death was found drowning and falling out of boats. This study shocked everyone including adventurous that loves to visit danger zone and take selfies.

‘No Zone Selfies’

The authorities want to declare some places as no-selfie zones such as tall buildings, mountain tops, and water bodies.

After a series of accidents in Russia, the government has launched a campaign to educate citizens on how to avoid an accident while killing selfies. This campaign includes a video that warns people about hazards.

This report shows that drowning is the most common reason of accident. Many of these people got washed by a wave while on a beach. Some of them died while taking selfies in front of the train. A few of them become a victim of death by taking a selfie with the loaded gun. Here is a look at a number of deaths per year:

  • 93 in 2017

Only in 2016, Pakistan ranked as second highest death toll due to the selfie. Pakistan faced 9 deaths due to risky selfies and with the passage of time, Pakistan still ranks with a higher number of selfie accident.
