Teaching Children How to Think Instead of What to Think
Education is the strongest weapon to change the tradition and culture of the world and way towards socially progressive. We teach the next generation engineers, doctors, scientists who will improve the quality of life and make them learn about the world.
We are teaching the lessons of mortality from the young age but this is easier to speak about them instead of teaching them how to discern what’s right or wrong.
The modern world education is quite effective to made engineer but these students lack the social awareness as education department is facing issues to teach young children about sensitivity, potency, social consciousness and a healthy citizenship ethos.
Teachers might not always be ‘right’
- Our young children have been taught to believe in authority and never speak against them and teachers always talk at the students instead of with them.
- The teachers are not upgrading themselves with the modern social awareness as they are repeaters and teaching the elements they have once learned with their own teachers. The fact is that modern world has brought plenty of changes in the environment of students.
- The factory model of education is really repulsive for anyone as they don’t want thinkers and children who ask questions on their methodology and just want a population that can be easily manipulated and controlled so as to surrender all its power.
- Pakistani students are facing this problem as they always taught to achieve good grades and marks to get a chance for internship opportunities or invitation from different states, they have lost the meaning of education and running in a race.
How to resolve the problems associated with schools:
If we are going to resolve the problem, we should need to learn to begin asking questions instead of answering them as real learning is only achieved through investigate process.
School should need to provide tools and resources for the kids and plan a field trip and tests are designed in such a way where students think about creative ideas and applications.
