Pakistani People Able Tolodge Cybercrime Report Directly To Police

Pakistan has introduced the new laws against cybercrime reports and this time Punjab government provides access to people to get help easily.

If you ever become a victim of cyber-attack then Punjab Government will allow you to lodge FIR with Punjab police and expand the scope of jurisdiction in Pakistan.

Cybercrime bill was introduced last year:

  • The bill was introduced last year and previous cyber cases were handled by FIA and take action against the hackers and criminals. They also made work to deal with unique cases of a modern world.
  • However, stats show that people have no awareness how to lodge FIR against cyber-attack and only cases which are registered with FIA and gained attention to media were entertained.

The DRA (Digital Right Foundation) report tells that 70% of women harassed during past six months never register their complaint and all incidents took place on Facebook.

Cybercrime reports in Pakistan:

  • The organization DRF has made research over different factors of cybercrimes and stated that people have still no awareness about cybercrime.
  • They don’t know about online harassment and cybercrime helpline and response unit for cybercrimes are only exists in capital cities of Pakistan.
  • A large number of complaints are received from Punjab and recently 1612 reports are lodged within five months and larger higher rate compared to other provinces.

Pakistan government working fast to stop cybercrimes:

  • It is noticed that Pakistan government working really fast to stop cybercrimes from the country as they have blocked multiple social media pages and accounts and provide access with cybercrime report

Pakistan has recently punished man to death over ‘Facebook Blasphemy’. They have further planning to expand the system to government departments and if Punjab police tackle the case of cybercrimes then they need special training.
