Pakistani girl breaks the Guinness world record of longest comic strip made by Indian. The girl was real pride for the nation and made her name on 12 March 2017.
Meet Unaiza Ali Barlas, 20 years old Pakistani Cartoonist has been officially named in World Records at Gillani Park Lahore.
Unaiza Ali Barlas:
- Unaiza Ali Barlas, talented Lahore based artist, animator and cartoonist and creates world’s largest comic strip. She made the strip of length 267.38 meters long in Lahore and surpassed the previous record of longest comic strip.
- Unaiza has found the NGO namely ‘Art for Humanity’ to raise fund for Edhi Foundation. She completed her A-levels from Roots Ivy; she had a passion to complete the comic strip that remains identity for a country.
While talking to media added that she had love with art and cartooning and theme of this comic strip stated as:
There’s a character known as Jack who is fed up with his life in the comic strip. He didn’t feel well with black and white box frame within the comic strip and wants to achieve the personal goals. After struggling hard to get out of the box, it realized the bitter truth of the life and realizes self-worth’
The story conveys a positive message to never fed up with the failures of life. The life always comes with opportunities to learn something and help others in doing so.
Inspiration:
- Unaiza tells the media that she loved to draw the cartoons from her childhood and always passionate towards the arts.
- She was scrolling the Guinness World Record and viewed the record made by Indian belonging from her field. She decided to take it up as a challenge and worked hard for a mission.
- Unaiza took sheets of paper, cut them and joined them together. She made the character inside the boxes neatly. This woman finallymanages to surpass world record of longest comic strip.
Unaiza also added words for Pakistan:

Arranging the icons remains challenging for Guinness World Record and nearly 50 volunteers had to manage comic to unroll it. The title of the comic strip was ‘The Exit’ and she aims to continue her art work with volunteers and fellow artists.
