Thousands of people lined up outside the polling station on Sunday to determine the winner for NA-120 Elections. This seat left vacant after the Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification under the Supreme Court verdict in Panama Papers.
Polling Campaign of NA-120 Election:
The polling campaign for NA-120 Election is at peak. All the competitors are working hard and meeting different people on road and claiming to save their rights. We have seen that PTI Candidate Dr. Yasmin Rashid worked hard for this voting game.She remained on the roads while the people are using their rights and want to achieve the victory.
On the other hand PML-N Candidate Kulsoom Nawaz wins this election without even appearing in the public. She is the widow of former PM and easily won her husband’s former seat. Maryam Nawaz is working for the campaign of Kulsoom Nawaz and appears to the public.
The Unofficial and unverified polling data:
- According to the unofficial and unverified polling data, PML-N candidate won the victory. Kulsoom’s margin of victory is lower than her husband’s in 2013 because of low voter turnout.
- PML-N candidate Kulsoom Nawaz received 61,524 votes from the 220 polling stations. As compared to PML-N Dr. Yasmin Rashid got 47,066 votes from polling stations.
- She remained second in NA-120 Election and results are better for PTI as compared to an election of 2013. Rashid seemed to be a strong candidate for this election.
- An independent candidate Yaqoob Sheikh stood third during the election and got more votes than Pakistan People’s Party (PPL).
- Pakistan People’s Party candidate Faisal Mir remains fourth at this election. A close contest is observed between PML-N and PTI.
Voter’s complaints:
- Many voters complain the Election Commission that it took too long for making the progress of vote.
- The Election Commission should take notice of time delays and took Twitter to complain of delays.
- The media personnel were not being allowed inside the polling stations even with the issue of cards.
- PTI candidate Yasmin Rashid expressed satisfaction about workers of a polling station during the election.
- However, PPL candidate Faisal expressed his displeasure over the voting that ECP inclined in favor of ruling PML-N.
Victory Speech:
- The victory speech is delivered by the former PM’s daughter Maryam Nawaz from her Model Town Residence. She told her supporters that they had accomplished a big feat.
- The voters have given the answer that our prime minister is till Nawaz Sharif. She added that nobody could conspire against the PML-N with these tactics. Maryam thanks the voters and party workers for their efforts on behalf of Kulsoom and Nawaz Sharif.
PTI reaction:
PTI chairman Imran Khan posted the tweet about NA-120 Elections. He is thankful to all party workers and their efforts for the election campaign. Imran tweets that determination of Dr. Yasmin Rashid is amazing against the federal and local government.
PTI leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi added ‘we are happy with our efforts. Even the results are against but it will be the victory for PTI. We have given tough time to PML-N as it is the home of N-league
