Former Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Dr. Aamir Liaquat will join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) party, sources said. The person is well-known anchorperson on a television screen and also a renowned scholar.
PTI’s Central Additional Secretary Faisal Javed Khan made this claim with his twitter account. He added that Dr. Aamir Liaquat will join the party soon and press conference held on 25th October 2017.

The press conference for the official announcement will be held in Karachi. He will conduct a press conference at PTI leader Ismail’s residence on Wednesday to announce his formal inclusion in a party. Several party leaders also rush towards social media to make the announcement.
It is also expected that PTI chief Imran Khan also attend the press conference at Ismail’s residence. PTI’s leader Ismail also shared the news on social media and press conference.
Dr. Aamir Liaquat and his political career:
- Everyone in Pakistan must know this person for his several activities on a television screen. It is important to mention that he started his political career with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM).
- Aamir Liaquat elected as MNA for the first time in 2002 general election on the ticket of MQM. He wins the election from NA-249 Karachi and appointed as Minister of state for Religious Affair in September.
- Aamir remains on his post from September 2004 until July 2007 when party members want him to resign. They want him to resign from Minister’s seat as a member of the National Assembly. In 2007, anchorperson resigns from the politics and appeared on the television screen hosting several shows.
- The person resigns from the politics at 2007 and later leaves MQM in 2016. He parted away from MQM after a brief detention at Rangers headquarters in August last year. This happens after the controversial speech of MQM founder on August 22, 2016.
- On this occasion, Aamir Liaquat speaks that he fed up with the party and the way it functioned. This is the reason he was leaving the politics once again and party.
- Aamir Liaquat also appeared on the show claiming he is receiving death threats through SMS and phone calls. He also added if he is killed, MQM will be responsible.
