Crackdown Across Faizabad Protestors Is Underway

A crackdown has been launched against protestors sitting in Islamabad since November 8th. The police of Islamabad with Rangers, Frontier Corps personnel and other law enforcement agencies launched a crackdown across Faizabad protestors.

This shutdown is launch after the long series of the deadline given by the government. These deadlines state to clear Islamabad and open area for people. The deadline for protestors has expired at midnight but activists remain on road.

Police is deploy in Faizabad:

Ahsan Iqbal called for strict response against protestors. He added government wouldn’t entertain illegal demand of protestors.

  • The television footage of crackdown across Faizabad protestors showed police has surrounded area. More than 8500 elite police and troops take part in mission for clearance of road. Police fired tear shells in bid to disperse the protestors.
  • There is also information that protestors pelted stones at the security officials. The mission to clear Islamabad has launched early on Saturday morning. The police have directed some 2000 protestors to call-off their sit-in. It also shows that smoke is blowing in the area and fires burning in the streets.

We have seen everything in this protest as ambulance and fire brigades are moving here and there. Some of the protestors are also arrest by a police force. However, the activists are still protesting and refused to budge.

There is also unconfirm news that 50 people are injured in clearance operation. They are being treated in various hospitals and nearly 90 percent of the area is cleared by police. The operation is still continue against these protestors.

The capital authorities are monitoring the operations with aerial surveillance and helicopters. People of Punjab and others also blocked several roads supporting Faizabad sit-in. It is also seen that police has cleared metro bus station.

Emergency is impose following crackdown across Faizabad protestors:

  • Few camps of protestors are also burn to warn the activists. An emergency is also impose in the hospitals of Rawalpindi and Islamabad whereas holidays of doctors are also cancel. Police are using both tear gas and rubber bullets to clear the area.
  • There is also report that some protestors are ready to fight against the crackdown. They have some sticks with themselves and wearing masks.
  • Thick smoke is clearly view in the sky as police are firing tear gas from starting of operation. Security personnel have entered one kilometer into the area occupied by the protestors.
  • The shops and other businesses are close in the area and schools also. This is direct by officials to avoid any untoward situation for them. The connected roads are also block with containers to avoid other people joining the sit-in.

Faizabad sit-in:

  • Protestors from Tehreek-i-Labaik Ya Rasool Allah Pakistan block highway. It will cause an hours-long traffic jam in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. A life of young child already cost as ambulance can’t reach a hospital within time due to blocked roads.
  • The protestors are demanding resignation from Law Minister Zahid Hamid over the alleged exclusion of Khatm-e-Nabuwwat clause to which he denies. Both parliament houses restore Khatm-e-Nabuwwat clause in nomination papers in its original form.
