After India’s Missile Deal, Pakistan Is Buying 48 Drones From China ‘Largest Arms Deal’

 

Pakistan will reportedly be buying 48 drones from its friendly-country China and said to be ‘largest deal of its kind’.

The global times report states that Pakistan will import Wing Loong II Chinese drones to boots its air force. This deal is stated to be the largest one and cost is not revealed yet. It is also reported that in future Pakistan and China will jointly work to manufacture the drones.

What’s so special in Chinese drones?

The Chinese attack drones are manufactured by Chengdu Aircraft Industrial Group. It is capable of carrying 480 kgs of munitions. These drones are high-end multi-role and strike aircraft system.

According to some news agency, these drones maiden flight in February 2017. The drone cleared multiple live firing tests based on the needs of customers. It includes sensitive targets, time-based, hitting moving and stationary elements. Furthermore, China received a large order for attacking drones. If the deal with Pakistan is confirmed, then it is the largest deal of its kind.

The Pakistan airforce announced the deal on Facebook, and there is no additional information is available. When the deal happens, when drones are imported, no information is given.

The deal is actually trustworthy given close military ties between two countries. US drones are more advanced but they limit their export. China drones will get popular in the international market as they perform similarly with lower cost.

China is going fast:

The report shows that the US, Russia, and France are biggest arms sellers in the market. But China is getting a part of them and some reports state that China’s arms exports increased 38 % between 2008-12 and 13-2017.

India vs Pakistan:

The news of this deal comes just after India made a deal with Russia for sophisticated S-400 missile. However, Chinese drones will enhance the power of Pakistan’s air force and more successful in the market.
