The Pakistan Airlines will soon offer the flight operations from Karachi, Lahore and major cities to Gilgit and Skardu. These flight operations will offer weekend and holiday packages also. The purpose is quite simple, as PIA wants to promote tourism in northern areas of the region. This is one of the important activity and requirement of Pakistan because people want to visit northern sites!
When is this decision taken?
- The decision of Pakistan airlines to support tourism is taken on Thursday. This decision was taken by Advisor to Prime Minister on Aviation Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan and Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan.
- The other major officials of the region also attend the meeting and high officials of Aviation also present. It was mutually agreed that PIA will collaborate with regional tourism department in order to promote activities. This decision will bring people’s attention towards northern sites.
- They also decided to arrange another meeting for the decision. This meeting will hold between commercials of Gilgit-Baltistan. The purpose is to generate a solid package that remains attractive and affordable for the people.
Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan stated:
- Khan also shared his thoughts and speaks to the meeting. We will offer direct special flights from Lahore and Karachi towards northern areas. The cargo service will also promote for transportation of fruits and dry fruits of hilly areas to other parts.
- This decision is pretty important for these people and provides the chance to earn their livelihood in a respectable manner. PIA offer flights with holiday packages will definitely enhance the economy of the country.
- This will present the positive and good image of a nation to the international community. We just want to make every single positive step for the promotion of tourism. The planes designated for these flights would be decorated with different literacy and cultural artifacts of Pakistan.
The Gilgit-Baltistan chief secretary is thankful for the advisor on his reforms. He thanked him for collaboration with tourism departments for promoting activities in the region.
PIA just wants to increase the standards of the airlines and want to offer various improvements. This will help people to trust on the government airlines and will fly with these flights.
- The fact is that several disasters occurred with the firm and planes crashed on the way. This is the reason many people want to avoid the national flights. We have seen that a few days ago, the UK hotel refused to rent homes to PIA crew. Ladies in the hotel feel insecure in the presence of the PIA male crew because someone asks for a number of a lady.
- The pilot found sleeping in the passenger seat, drugs found at London and pilot allowed extra passenger. These all are the events that decrease the reputation of the country but PIA offer flights with holiday packages.
