Pakistan’s First-Ever U-18 Snooker World Champion – Naseem Akhter Inspirational Story

NaseemAkhtar won the first-ever international junior title in snooker and raises the name of Pakistan in the world with his brilliant performance and becomesU-18Snooker World Champion. Naseem belongs from Sahiwal and people made a warm welcome for the world champion as he beat the China’s Peifan Lei with 5 – 3 scoreboard in ‘best of nine frames’ at the international event. Naseem finds difficulties at an early stage of final match:

  • The Chinese players had a lead over the Pakistani Naseem at the early stage as he was leading the final game with 3-0 frames but what a comeback from Naseem(U-18 Snooker World Champion) stunned every member sitting in the crowd and watching on television.
  • His aggressive return in the game and won the next five frames consecutively that snatch the victory from Chinese player.

NaseemAkhtar added that he wants to thanks the Snooker Federation for supporting the person and the Pakistani people that made prayers for me – it was all happened due to hard work and spirit to won the title for Pakistan and made the name of the nation in the sports. Naseem was the inspirational symbol for young players:: U-18 Snooker   In Pakistan, snooker was not considered to be the good game for the young people as        parents dislike the sitting of their child in the clubs and playing snooker and the same        condition was faced by NaseemAkhtar.

  • He added that his elder brother was not happy with his love to Snooker and he was discouraged at an early stage but argued that no sport is intrinsically wrong or right – they are just games.

He was the youngest brother and later was supported by his elder brother for his travel to Lahore and Karachi at an early age and he added that it is the game that provides youngsters an opportunity to explore their talents and provide me chance to become U-18 Snooker World Champion.
