Road trips you need to take this summer in Pakistan

What does summer mean to you? Vacations. Adventure. Lots of fun! If you are having craving for an adventurous get-away has road trips you need to take this summer in Pakistan one of these road trips will satisfy you, for sure.

1- Karachi to Hyderabad

Travelling on the Karachi-Hyderabad motorway, it’s a lovely ride through farms and small villages. It takes 3-4 hours to reach Hyderabad; you can stop overnight in a guesthouse and explore the city before returning the next day. The main attractions are Kotri Barrage, Bombay Bakery, Jamshoro Bridge, and Keenjhar Lake.

2- Karachi to Gwadar

You will be travelling on the Makran Coastal Highway enjoying scenic sights of the rugged mountains of Balochistan and the beautiful Makran coast, while also meeting the friendly and hardworking locals on your way. This adventurous trip will take about 8-10 hours.

Because of the excellent road conditions and picturesque sights along the way, the memories of this journey will stay with you for life. Not to mention the beautiful Gwadar coast, which is the best escape from the busy life of Karachi.

3- Karachi to Lahore

This one is going to be The Road Trip of your life – something you must do before you die. Take the motorway to Hyderabad and then N5 to Lahore. Stop in between for refreshments, meals and fuel and then you can just go non-stop to Lahore in about 20 hours.

It’s a lovely journey with lush greenery, farms, and villages along the way. You can even stop at one of these villages and spend some time with the locals. You won’t forget this trip EVER.

4- Lahore to Islamabad

You will be travelling on the M-2 Motorway, which can easily be called the Best Motorway in Pakistan.

Passing through a paradise dotted with farms, hills, and lush greenery, you will definitely fall in love with this route.

5- Islamabad to Hunza Valley

This is not just any road trip – it’s a magical journey on the world’s highest altitude paved international road, The Mighty Karakoram Highway. Words cannot give justice to the beauty of this tour.

However, it’s going to be one of the most extreme and adventurous tours of your life as you make your way through the rugged and daring Karakoram Mountains.

You can take the Murree Expressway toward the Kaghan Valley or take the M1 to Abbottabad and head off straight on the KKH to Hunza. It’s a 10-hour journey if you go non-stop. But you just can’t resist stopping at some great locations like Abbottabad, Kaghan, Naran, and Gilgit.

Plus, keep stopping on the way to capture those beautiful sights on camera. And when you finally reach the enchanting Hunza Valley, the Fairy Meadows and Chilas will take you on a trip to heaven.

6- Islamabad to Muzaffarabad

Travelling on the Murree Expressway, you can take in the beautiful sights of the serene Murree hills, which are a promise of what’s coming ahead- a “Paradise on Earth

The journey is a beautiful one as you travel along the Neelum River on one side and mighty mountains on the other.

 

But once you reach Muzaffarabad, all the adventure and bumpy rides are worth it. Major attractions include Neelum Valley and Jhelum Valley.

7- Islamabad to Kalam Valley

This trip to a fairyland will let you enjoy beautiful sights of lush green mountains, gushing rivers, lakes and waterfalls along the way. You can take the M1 motorway from Islamabad to reach the Mardan exchange and travelling onto Bahrain Road, you can reach Mingora/Saidu Sharif, the administrative city of Swat.

Stop at Kalam Valley for at least a day and don’t forget to visit those Charpoy restaurants where you can dip your feet in the Kalam River while enjoying freshwater fish.
