Capturing the energy and flexibility of the human body by using wire seems impossible but an English artist Richard Stainthorp has made this possible by utilizing his sculpturing techniques.
He has sculptured life size sculptures in motion and at recreation both. These are built in the form of large gauged strands which are tightly wrapped around and through each other.
Techniques used to Build The Sculptures
By using these techniques he gives his work irrefutable presence. By keeping the metallic wires from any addition of painting or other material stainthrop bended wires and kept their original metallic shine.
Stainthorp spent almost 20 years in creating such fascinating artworks. There is absence of any faical expressions but they are designed that they convey their emotions through their body language.
The sculptures seem like they are falling or are communicating a feeling like feeling of freedom and there are infinite possibilities.
