The Ruet-i-Hilal Committee of the nation is responsible to aware people with the beginning of new Islamic month. The Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman announced Muharram moon had been sighted in the Islamabad on Thursday.
Committee chairman announces that Holy year will starts from September 22, Friday.The Ashura i.e. 10th of Muharram will fall on October 1st Sunday of this year.
The media announces that meeting to sight the moon is held at the Karachi but evidence come from all sights. Muharram moon is sighted clearly in different parts of the country including Bahawalpur, Khanpur, Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi.
This shows that evidence is also collected from different zonal offices of the country. The new moon also marks the beginning of 1439 Hijri from Friday.
Importance of Muharram:
Muharram is also a blessed month of Islamic calendar as many awards can be gained through Ramadan.The Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said, “The best of fasting after Ramadan is fasting Allah’s month of Muharram.
Muharram itself translates into ‘sacred’ and it has great importance in Islam. The Muharram is the month when you keep fast and enjoy the serenity.
The Ashora is the 10th day of the Muharram and has great importance in Islamic year. Therefore, to achieve greater blessings, we need to consider two fasting days in Muharram. One on the Ashura day whiles the other on preceding or exceeding day.
Security plans for Muharram:
- With the start of Muharram, Punjab police have also announced the security plans to protect the citizens. This time 124,537 personnel along with volunteers and special units are deployed for protection of the country.
- The decision of the police officers is taken on Thursday during a video-link conference. This meeting is chaired by Inspector General of Police Arif Nawaz.
- The decision of the police security is taken under all the senior officers of the region. They deployed officers to serve 36,216 majalis and 9137 processions. 37,398 police officers are involved in the security, 5580 special unit forces while 85,515 are volunteers.
- These all people perform their duties in Muharram to made safe sound in the region. The Majalis and Procession are categorized into A, B and C depending upon their sensitivity and security.
- The police department will work accordingly to a situation and provide four-layered security. The IGP said that every region is responsible for the security arrangements and provide briefings to DPOs/RGP.
- He added that scanning of the routes is the success to avoid any certain condition. The vendors near to the majalis must be checked thoroughly. He ordered the police officers not to leave until all the participants leave the venue of majalis.
- This time snipers are also deployed on a nearby roof to made best security while searching operation will be conducted regularly. The crackdown against the green number plates and displaying arms has already been launched.
- This time special security identity cards are assigned to the security guards and monitoring through CCTV also conducted. The fact is that Pakistan is state of war against extremism and need to remain united in every situation.
